I am not a big fan of Tunisian so I don't do it much however...

You should be careful in how you hold the fabric as you work. It can tend to curl if you let it roll over your hand as you work.

I also found that as I continued to make a larger piece, it stopped curling. The greater weight helped to block it out more.

i was going to recommend Kim guzman's site but she seems to have changed it so I can't find the info there... strike that .. here is her answer to your question

You might find some useful info at crochet cabana here:

It's the nature of the stitch to curl but there are things you can do to try to minimize the curl. Go to this page at my site for some helps/hints for minimizing it:

http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/cinnaminn_s/hints3_counting.html#curling

And if all else fails, just remember that usually once you add a border onto the completed item, the curling is gone. :)

BTW - I did read somewhere online that the smaller the hook size used, the tighter the curl will be.

I think there were a couple of messages posted somewhere in Crochetville that said they completely eliminated the curling problem but unfortunately, I don't remember who it was or when it was posted.

HTH!

After I do my first row I do the second and third in the tunisian purl stitch

Then go back to the regular stitch and then at the end I do the last 2 rows in the tunisian purl stitch and I have no problem with curling.

Here is a site that shows you how to do it.

Hope this helps.
