filet crochet increase/decrease smoother instead of blocky?

Can anyone tell me how to build smoother edges in filet crochet? I’m looking for something more like this sample image I drew up. On the left is what I want; on the right is traditional. Open slanted inc/dec are shown in pink while closed are shown in green. Some show inc/dec of one square while others show two squares.

That's a good question, I'd like to see others' answers to this too. The only thing I've seen is the addition of an edging after the piece is finished to disguise the blocky edges.

I think it might be hard to get responses because that Block-y effect is the tradition of Filet crochet.

She explains increasing / decreasing with 2 methods, oblique (which I think you are looking for) and stepped (more common).
