Crochet cotton size 10

desperate

Question

Hi, when a pattern calls for Crochet cotton size10, can someone please tell me what size that actually is and give me an idea on brands to please? Would that mean maybe DMC Cebelia #10 or even South Maid? Thanks a lot, Jennifer:blush

Yes, you are right, size 10 is found in most crochet thread and seems to be the most popular. Make sure and check the label as those brands also make other sizes, 20, 30 etc. Knit cro sheen is another brand, DMC traditions, another,,,just read the label it will tell you the size....Make sure and let us know what you are making...and pictures too

Thanks a lot for replying to my question. Now I know...what I'm wanting to crochet is the thread posted on Show and Tell. Here is the link.

It's the potholder, but if only I had the pattern now. I can't get it off her show and tell. I am a woman with a mission now that I know which thread she must've used.

DESPERATE: I viewed the blog and I was able to translate it into english but I couldn't email the page to you.

It's easy, here's what you do: go into this website:

http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

When your in that site, in the second blank area under http: cut and past the website for the blog. Then select, translate from spanish to english! Vola, you got it! Good luck. PM me if you need help!:devil

Jasmon, thanks for the advise to get that potholder pattern but it won't work. I can't get past the Altavista thingy when I cut and paste the url into it. I did it exactly as you said to!!! :( If I gave you my email address do you think you can get it for me and cut and paste it to me that way please? :hug

??? I'm confused, her blog is in spanish but the pattern below the picture of her potholder is already in english.

BTW, when you go shopping for your #10 thread, make sure it says mercerized. It is much nicer, it is smooth and easier to work with; non-mercerized is rough.
