Yesterday, i was doing my usual going to knitting groupby way of the charity shops when my fav shop came up trumps! two skiens of toning greys for a pound and two beautiful pattern booklets for 70p! the booklets date from the mid seventies or when you could buy a flower loom for 55p postal order. Needless to say my beloved is exasperated by the way i started in on a new project as soon as i got home. i then had to explain it wasn't an overlarge corsage but part of a pillow pattern worked in motifs joined in strips which i am converting to a wrap!

 

the patterns are all home decor includining some very seventies bedspreads, so i am ingnoring the gauges and yarn recommendations as they involve cottons i have never heard of in colours long since discontinued, and i am never going to make a double bedspread from threadwith a 1.5mm hook.

 

Extra bonus was a comprehensive biography of one of my all time favourite poets ;W H Auden which made me laugh out loud.

Wow! Crocheting and Auden? That makes me so happy . Hooray for charity shops! I love his elegy for Yeats - one of my favorite poems, actually.
