I found a site with a list of abbreviations (http://www.medidit.com/Lessons/abbrv.htm) but I didn't see that term "trf."

But I Googled for "trf" and "crochet" and found this site (http://books.google.com/books?id=VMsD_ZjaQ3cC&pg=PA64&lpg=PA64&dq=crochet+trf&source=web&ots=-LB4QBlFdi&sig=eEmKJid0de9tTRzemJ2Kn6MMH4w) that showed this term in the directions for an afghan. It seems to mean treble crochet front.

I hope that this helps. Perhaps reading through the directions for the afghan will help more...

Thanks both of you :) , I have it figured out. I was a dork and didn't see that at the end of the pattern the meaning was written :blush . trf means "treble to front," and judging by the photo. of the coat, it means treble to front post. In american terms it would be a "FPdc" (front post double crochet). thanks agian to all that responded you guys are great:cheer
