Thanks everyone! Donna, please go ahead and add them to the gallery. The pattern was the Easy Does It pattern from the Crocheted Socks! book and the yarn was Paton's Patonyle 4 ply colour 4304.

Love those, Joy! :clap May I put them in the gallery? (Sorry if I sound like a broken record asking that all the time, but after reading up on copyright, I feel I must!) Also, what pattern and yarn did you use, so I can put that info in as well. Thanks! :)

Yes, you may put them in the gallery...I used MicroSpun by Lion Brand. Color French Vanilla. The pattern was the Basic sport sock in the American School of Needlework Learn to Crochet Socks. The pattern was pretty easy. :clap I want to do a few now for Christmas gifts. Thanks everyone.

Hi, I would like to join in too. This would be my very first crochet along and socks. I have a crochet sock pattern book, have had it about 6 months now and haven't made any socks out of it yet but now I can. I even just started my first crochet blog last night

okay, trying again - this time, i splurged and bought the learn to Crochet Socks by American School of Needlework.

hopefully this time i can get it :bang

i do have a question though...

the one i have chosen uses a ww yarn, with an H hook, to fit size 6/8 in women's. i want to make these for my dtr. she wears a 12 in kids

what to do?

Rebecca,

This is the book that I used and finally understood what they wanted me to do. What I did for size was to do a little and then tried it on for size. If you can't do this because it is for a gift, maybe try it on someone who is close to that size.

Susan, I'm glad you're joining us! I've added you to the list.

Rebecca, I'm sorry I don't know about converting the size! I haven't even finished my socks yet. :blush And I don't know much about girls vs. women's sizes. Joy's suggestion is good to have her try it on as you go, if you can.

Joy, I can't see your sock photo on your post above anymore, and I haven't put it in the gallery yet. Could you either re-post it here or e-mail it to me? Thanks!

Joy, thank you! :thumbsup Your socks are now in the gallery! :clap

Rebecca, how about trying a simpler pattern? A plain single crochet sock, maybe? The ripple pattern is kind of confusing with socks... you've got not only a ripple in the round but also increasing and such. After you've got that figured out then try the ripple? :thinking1 :2

Count me in!:thumbsup

We have lots of little baby feet coming that will be needing socks, as well as Moms who are really into interesting socks. This CAL will be perfect!!

Socks socks socks! Where are the sock people? I feel honor-bound to post here, since I worked on one of my socks-in-progress last night during our evening movie. How goes it? Anyone else have a sock that's moved to the bottom of the WIP bag or basket? Pull it out and add another inch, it won't hurt, I promise!

Well, Howdy ladies (and gents?)!

I'm brand new to this type of board and am working on my very first pair of socks so I thought I'd join you all!

I've been crocheting for almost 30 years but up till this year, I've mainly made afghans... When my kids were small (a long time ago ;) I made some sweaters and doll clothes).

Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say and to posting my finished socks when I get them done!

Mare
