Does baby socks/booties count for this CAL?

I am expecting my second child in February and would like to crochet some socks/booties for him. It's COLD here in Norway in February. I'm planning on using baby wool (meaning I have to buy some yarn :bounce )

Brand new member here:) I posted my Hi in the welcome section, and explained that even though I've been crocheting :knit for many years more than I want to admit..I've been dancing around crocheting socks for the past year. Have books and patterns, made ski hats with my sock yarn (love working with that yarn!), and finally made the plunge and ordered yarn last week. There is a package at the post office have :fc that its the yarn!! I ordered 4 (50 gram) balls, as I don't want to run out making my guinea pig (also known as dh) a pair of socks.

Now, of course, I have orders for about 6 or 7 ponchos, but I should still be able to sneak in a few minutes of therapeutic sock-making time each day:ohdear , even with all the other stuff.

So to make a short story long, can I join?? Please??

Thank you, Lora! Now I can put that info in the photo album. I haven't used that pattern yet, but several others have ~ they look great! :))

Deb, we would love to have you in the crochet-along! I've added you to the list. I hope your DH loves his socks. I bet he will ~ sounds like you have had a lot of practice working with the yarn. :)) Can't wait to see! :camera

As if I needed one more crochet project to do, but I wanted to have my name added to this crochetalong please. I'll be making the Lions Brand "Joan's Socks" with a wonderful German sock weight yarn in gray...

Okay, totally sidetracked into doing the Joan's sock rather than what I should be working on (baby bunting for new great grand niece...) Have ribbing and leg done on one sock...that was quick.

I have a few inches of ribbing on one sock done, only to find I chose the wrong size- this would fit the calf of a football player :oops

- another crochet addiction :wink

So, I have ribbing, leg and top of foot done on one sock, however, I haven't done the toe yet...it looks big for my foot, but that still remains to be seen if it really is until the whole sock is done. However, the socks will be for my husband, so who knows, it might fit him. Am rotating between crochet projects to keep from being bored. So I'm trading off with this baby bunting I'm working on...the major part of that projects is done, just have to do the minor stuff to it, like binding, zipper, roses that kind of thing.

Howdy all! It's been too long since I've posted but thought I'd jump in and say that I did finish ONE of the socks, affectionately called FUGS (foot Hugs) for my friend. She has reall short, fat feet so I've had to try them on her frequently - no surprises for her!

I've also finished a bunch of scarves and have been working a TON of extra hours at my job...

I really want to get to know you all better!

Ok - I have been thinking about doing this, too. Then - while at Jo-Ann's today I found Lion Brand Magic Stripes on clearance for $5.00 per skein. PLUS they're having that Moonlight Madness thing today and tomorrow so it was another 50% off clearance items. I bought two skeins for $2.50 each (purple pattern colorway) and plan on crocheting the Mardi Gras Carnival socks from Crochet Stocking Feet by Annie's Attic....so count me in!

I want to join! You know anything with socks is right up my alley. I've been wanting to write down the directions for my most latest crocheted socks, anyway, but I need to make another pair & write up the directions as I go along.

Hi, I'm new here and I just wanted to thank all of you sock crocheters for inspiring me in my quest for the perfect slipper sock pattern. I was just about to give up, thinking crochet just doesn't lend itself to stretchy sock-making the way knitting does. Then one of my searches led me to the photo gallery at the Feet Need Socks site, which then led me here. You've all done beautiful work.

After trying pattern after pattern I finally decided to do it my own way, studying a knitted, store-bought slipper sock. I realized it was simply a long strip that had been folded at the toe and heel and stitched up the sides. Using a smaller hook at the toe and heel gave me a nice shape (so it wouldn't be too boxy) and so I finally got the socks I wanted, stretchy and not too loose. Each sock only took about 2 hours once I came up with the pattern.

Thanks again to everyone here. If not for you I was ready to give up and start brushing up on my knitting skills.

Oh, by the way, I've only been crocheting a few years so I have a question. What does it mean to "frog" something?
