there is red heart lustersheen

it is fingering weight and it is still arround, in the 70-90's it was wound like thread, not it comes in pullskeins. maybe that would work for her? try http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/yarn-coats-red-heart-lustresheen.html

there is also bernat that makes baby fingering, but it only comes in pastels http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/yarn-bernat-baby-fingering-weight.html

and like some other people have said before, finding fingering weight is not as easy any more people are in too much of a hurry, they want the bigger bulky stuff because it goes a lot faster. i still favor it for any garments except outer wear. goodluck and i hope you/she finds what youre looking for

I don't understand - you favor fingering weight for making undergarments? Or you favor worsted weight for making undergarments?

i favor fingering weight for all wearables EXCEPT outerwear (coats, jackets, scarf/hats etc. basically things you wear over your clothes)
