Just wondering if anyone has made this thread holder bag and knows of any corrections for it and/or pics of it?

It's an archived page:

TIA!

Could you maybe run that link through tinyurl It won't work with all those asterisks. it may be why people haven't answered your question.

there is a thread holder pattern at Talking crochet that I know has been a hit with many here. If I can find that one, I'll post it.

Here's the TinyURL for the archived pattern/page:

http://tinyurl.com/2lkdse'>http://tinyurl.com/2lkdse

Original URL for the pattern was:

http://crochet.theshoppe.com/holder.html

It will come up on Yahoo Search if you use "Handy Crochet Thread Holder" to search for and click on the 1st link for "The Ultimate "Special Folks" Crocheted Gift Baskets" at:

http://www.geocities.com/ctpatterns/specialfolks.html

Thanks for the other link, darski. I have that one and am in the process of making it (already have 1 side done) but the one I'm asking about is bigger than that (Finished size = 7" x 12"). The Victorian Thread Holder by Maggie Petsch Chasalow measures 5-1/4 inches wide x 9 inches tall including wrist strap, to hold 1 (50-gram) ball of crochet thread.

So far, the only other free thread holder I've found is this one by Cylinda Mathews:

http://www.crochetmemories.com/archive/freethreadholder.html

(or TinyURL: http://tinyurl.com/25ddzf'>http://tinyurl.com/25ddzf ) (it's nice but not exactly what I want either.)

BTW, I use this URL to reach TinyURL:

http://tinyurl.com

Thanks again, darski! :) I do appreciate the help!

My spring secret pal made me the one darski told you about. I love mine. It really is large enough for a larger ball of thread to fit into. Also you know if you want the strap a little long you can make it that way without changing the pattern. :) If you crochet tightly you can change hook size to get a larger bag. The gauge will be larger but the pattern still works the same but gives you the tad larger bag.

Thanks for the help/info, Nikki. :)

Right now, I've got both patterns in progress but keep getting some ideas for something a little different while working on them. I'm thinking of using 1 or 2 doily patterns to make a thread holder.

Well Unfortunetly I could NOT get any of those links to work to even SEE those bags to compare. I did however print out the one I could see which was the Victorian Thread Holder and I Love it and plan on making it this weekend! THANKS!

Which link(s) did you try using, AnjyB? Try using the TinyURL ones in my reply post to darski. There is NO pic for the Handy Crochet Thread Holder that shows up with the archived pattern though.

(Hmm.....I guess I could/should try taking a pic of my WIP for it and post it?

:goodorbadWill try to do that later when I get a chance.)

Just thought I would update this to show that I did manage to complete the Handy Thread Holder. Photo of my completed bag can be seen in my Epson album in the folder called "Cheryl's Crochet" at this URL:
