Dot's Ribbed Ski Hat

Yarn: RHSS in Painted Desert

 

Hook: Size K and I

 

Adjustments: Instead of crocheting around the ch-32, I crocheted into it, I wanted a loop free to try something

 

I crocheted three extra rounds before starting the neck ribbing

 

I switched to the I hook for the neck ribbing to pull it in a little more snugly and chained 21 instead of 16

 

I'd read that at least one person had a problem with the bottom part stretching and not staying over the face so after I finished the neck ribbing I also did a two-stitch ribbing with the I hook around the face. I like the way it looks and it holds the face pretty good.

 

Anything I would change: I think I'd make the face hole a little smaller but other than that, I like how it turned out. It's going to be a man's gift at a Christmas party on Saturday.

Thank you, it was a pretty quick crochet, up until the neck ribbing, which probably took as long as the hat itself.
