Lapghan?

I've got five smallish skeins of yarn that I don't know what to do with, and I'm thinking perhaps a small lapghan. Does anyone know of a simple pattern for something like that? I typically do ripple blankets and I think I want something different. Is there a granny square stitch pattern out there somewhere? You know, where the blanket is one big square?

I think any square pattern that has repetitive rounds would be good to use. The basic granny square is always a good one too
