#10 Thread, two stranded, = ???

Would double stranding #10 thread approximately equal the size of #3 thread. The project I have in mind, exact gauge is not critical, but it should approximate the size of the other thread(s).

I think it would be between a size 3 and a size 5. I use doubled size 10, and quite like working with it. Find it easy and really enjoyable. Hope you like it.

Hi Joan! I believe using 2 strands of size 10 thread will be like a size 5. Using 2 strands of size 8 will equal to size 3.

Hi! I would agree with Gran. Perhaps the size of the hook would also matter in the substitution.
