"work even"

I'm doing a felted slipper pattern that is telling me rows 9 - 32 "work even".

I'm not sure what that means. Can someone help me with this? Sure would like to get a few pair done before Christmas:D

it means to continue working the pattern established with the same number of stitches

Yes, Luvmnms is right.

You may have been doing increasing or decreasing so they are telling you to just work straight, without doing any more increases or decreases.

Work even is not an expression I would use when writing a pattern.

I would be more inclined to say, "Rows 9 to 32, Continue in pattern without increasing/decreasing." I know it is more words but I think it is much easier to understand.

Experienced crocheters can work most things out so patterns should be written with beginners in mind.
