I don't think I am much help as my german is terrible but I live in Osnabruck so I am up here in the north-west. I am Canadian though married to a Brit. I speak enough to order food but and I read enough to get around. Sorry.

Sorry, but if I never replied to your E-mail, gingerbone. I can't remember if I did or not.

 

Now that the pattern is on <a href="http://www.crochetme.com" target="_new">Crochet me</a>, you can give the messenger bag a try. Just make the rectangles wider than what is called for in the pattern.

 

The yarn was Carons Wintuk, I think and a little leftover Wool-Ease for the stripe.

I live in Osnabruck but I am moving to Bergen which is between Hanover and Hamburg (and where the concentration camp Bergen-Belsin was). I have gone to a couple of American bases to shop at the PX (I miss my North American food). I am planning on going again in the spring. The last time I drove to Frankfurt I turned out to have the flu (I thought the traffic was just getting to me) and had the trip from...you know where... .
