Seminole Squirrel

My daughter said on her facebook page that she wanted one of the squirrels that roam around campus. So I made her one in school colors.

I will never make this again....at least not by this pattern.

There's got to be an easier method.

P.S. He needs a tail trim.... I made the fur too long.. lol

Awwwwww, the little squirrel is so cute! I love squirrels, so to see yours turn out so cute, just gives me the urge to make one. Great job!

TLC Essentials persimmon and Lionbrand Eyelash Copper held together. I threw in every now and then a Claret (body), Lavendar (the top of the acorn) or Harvest (the body of the acorn) just to give it the fur "highlights".

I'll let the recipient trim it.. if she wants to.

It's from a vintage Crochet World.. November/December 1986.

My issues with the pattern are 1) it doesn't tell you whether to join the rounds or if you're working in a spiral. 2) the instructions for the head.. I had to modify.. the nose came out looking like a snout from their directions. and 3.. they have you sew things on after stuffing.. when it seems to me it would be easier to sew things together before the stuffing is in the way.

I will try to free hand it next time.
