How do i change from BULKY to sport weight??

bubblefizz

Question

As some of you will have seen my "chunky cardigan" in show and tell.

Now i want to make another one of these for the warmer weather :D i like the style and pattern of it.

But how do i change from the bulky weight to a sport weight???

will i need to make the biggest size of the pattern??

Basicly this pattern calls for 2 strands of bulky on a size 10.00 hook

but obviously this cardy will be a bit too warm for the warmer weather:blush

can anyone help??

That is not a stupid question. I think the best thing is to do a test swatch. Does your pattern have a test gauge? I am having a similar problem with making a bolero in a different yarn than it calls for. Good luck with it.

What is a size 10 hook in US? I believe it must be pretty big for two strands of bulky yarn so I would go with a cotton yarn and a smaller hook maybe half the size of the large one. I am not positive on this though but hope it helps.
