C2C edges

Nicolapen

Question

How to get neater less bumpy edges in C2C crochet. I did the Chain 5 Chain 2 method and DC stitches. Two colours.

When I decreased I did a chain 1 before slip stitching in DC stitches and chain space.

Also at the edge slip stitch to other colour is more noticeable than earlier in the row.

Starting a border along the decrease side and doing 1 SC in top of each stitch and 2 SC in chain 2 spaces.

I copied the url as she begins the edging part of this tutorial.  If it doesn’t load that way it’s roughly 51 minutes into this video. Once you complete this initial edge you can use other edging sts.

Thanks for replying but I already came across that style boarder and figured it would not hide the yarn I carried up the side. I stuck with what I already started. Also I plan to fold ends to middle and sew down each side,

When I do a border on a C2C item, I make 3 sc for each little square along the side/end and ch 2 at the corner. Work in the top of the stitches, ch spaces or sides of the dc (whatever the square has). Since the stitch count is devisable by 3, you can add 2nd round in a pattern worked in multiples of 3 (I use a shell stitch).
