Help finding similar yarn.

I’m trying out a pattern that calls for “MADAME TRICOTE PARIS MADAME COTTON YARN” 49% cotton/51% acrylic and it says it’s a weight 3 DK yarn. Hook size 2.75

The colors I need are sold out so I need to try to find the same yarn, different brand. Michaels, Joanne’s, Hobby Lobby or any company in the U.S. preferably.

Any advice would be so helpful.

Thank you! I’ll look into it. I’m terrible at finding the right yarns to match patterns, especially when they’re patterns from other countries. Lol but I’ll try!

You might want to try Yarn Sub here.  I find they are helpful finding something close.

You are welcome.  I should have mentioned to pay attention to the yardage per skein, and buy sufficient yardage to more than cover your project needs.

Making numbers up - let's say your pattern's yarn brand was 200 yards per skein, and it called for 4 skeins for each color - that is 800 yards per color.  Let's say you found a brand x alternative in the same weight, and each skein was 150 yards each.  800 divided by 150 yards is 5.33 skeins, so you'd need to buy 6 skeins not 5 - ALWAYS round up, never round down, to make sure you have enough.
