Brand New Crocheter!

Hi all! 
I am brand new to crochet. I came out as trans a few years ago and lost a lot of my family as a result. Recently I've been missing a lot of my grandma's handmade gifts and decided to learn how to crochet to make gifts for other trans friends who no longer receive them from family!  I had no idea how much terminology was out there, or hard it was going to be to find the meaning behind a lot of specific terms!
