How to stop the flop?!

Hi!! I’m a beginner to crocheting and I’m currently making a Disney ear bucket hat! I’ve stuffed the ears, but when I place them on my hat, they just flop back and forth. What should I do?

Plastic canvas would help.

^ I second plastic canvas, you can use multiple layers if you need to.  I have used this to stiffen flat double-sided Christmas tree ornaments, but the one item that has gotten a lot of use and abuse for a lot of years is a 'book' type hook holder I made with an outer crocheted cover and inner crocheted liner piece with slots the hooks slip into. 

I think for the ears, I'd remove the stuffing and just use the canvas... it's been a long time since I went to Disneyland but the ears are just thin molded  plastic.
