Pattern help

Question

My pattern is for a Raglan sweater sleeve says to have a increase on one side but from how I'm looking it it's not going to match the body of the sweater. And the sleeves aren't going to be long enough. I'm confused in the pattern and would like help

Welcome to the 'ville!

I am completely confused.

Is there a photo of the end item on the internet?  Does it have a schematic of what the sleeves look like?  Raglan sleeves that are made separately and sewn in are sort of 'diamond' shaped, because the 'top' end isn't in an armhole like set-in sleeves, it's in the neck area.   Link to typical shape of front back and sleeve shaping for a raglan.  (Raglan sleeve heads can also be made at the same time as the top front and back of the sweater, in 1 piece, which is a whole lot easier.  Top down, that part sort of looks like a short shawl until you start the body, and later you come back and re-attach the yarn to make the sleeves)

The above assumes you are making the sweater with horizontal rows (left side of the body to the right side), not vertical rows (neck to hem); your sweater is made vertically, right?

I just typed a bunch of stuff and erased it.   Not saying the instructions are incorrect, just that I'm having trouble following some of it.  Example, why make 22 stitches in 2 steps with 2 chains? On the other hand, it might be creating something clever that I'm not imagining.  But, the art of coming up with a cool looking crochet item is a completely different skill set than writing down a clear pattern for it, as we have discovered in the help section many times.

Raising the white flag, I hope some other helpers will stop by and provide input.

Thanks for double checking Bgs, actually the 'trying' comes up twice, it's at the beginning as well --'the decrease on the sleeve rather trying'.

To the OP:  I'm a little lazy.  I don't HATE seaming, and I've seamed plenty of things over the decades, but I try to work a way around it if possible.  A while back I moved to a place with much colder winters than I'm used to, so I've knit and crocheted a lot of pullover sweaters over the past few years- mostly raglans, because there's no (or very little) seaming.

I'm going to throw out a couple of conventional and easy looking raglan pullover patterns in case they appeal to you.

https://makeanddocrew.com/easy-crochet-raglan-sweater-pattern-free/  you could very easily make the sleeves straight not flared; uses US worsted weight (#4)

https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=9816&cid=19  this calls for 2 yarns held together that combined = US worsted weight (#4)

http://hookedhazel.com/crochet-raglan-sweater-free-pattern/ comes in a lot of sizes, = US worsted weight (#4)

https://www.yarnspirations.com/bernat-womans-curvy-crochet-cowl-pullover/BRC0129-009567M.html uses super bulky

If the yarn you have is another weight, this was my search on Ravelry, you can change the search parameters using the menus on the left side.  I just picked a few easy/warm looking ones above.
