Looking for a couple of patterns

Sara Martin Griffith

Question

I found these pictures on pinterest and etsy. I have sent a message, searched for them on facebook but have not found the creators and/or they have not responded. I am looking for these patterns for several weeks. I found a few variations, but I really like these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 99.9% certain that the plaid socks are knitted; if not, there is a crochet stitch called the waistcoat stitch that looks like knit stockinette, except it's a bulky stitch, and I'm not sure they'd be stretchy enough for wearable socks.

The second one is clearly crochet, looks like US DC, I'll take a look.

Hat - this is not free, but is the closest I found https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/finley-newsboy-hat

Socks - I found zero plaid crochet socks (also, searched under 'check'), here is a not-free knit pattern that is very similar   https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cape-gingham

edited to add, there is a technique called 'knooking' which is REAL knitting with a crochet hook, that might interest you.  Knitting takes 2 needles minimum, a 'knook' hook is basically a normal hook with a string at the other end, and the string acts like the second knitting needle.  Knitting is basically a crochet slip stitch, with with a lot of variations.  I tried knooking, but already knew how to knit and had already been accustomed to the second needle being a needle (so the string just felt weird) , so knooking didn't have an appeal for me, but it might for you.

On the socks search buffalo plaid.  A couple of  knitting patterns come up along with several store bought.

Similar free hat pattern

Chances are the exact one you are looking for is a personal pattern and would be up to the designer as to if they want to sell you the pattern.
