Reading directions

Question

I'm working on a pattern that says "Rep last 2 rows for pat until work from lower edge measures 17 ending on a WS row.
Fasten off.

My question is: when they say lower edge does this include the ribbing or just that pattern part?

Thanks in advance

Just from the language of the brief instruction, I would assume it meant including the ribbing - bottom edge

Does this pattern have a diagram--I'm assuming it is a wearable?  Diagrams can answer a lot of questions, as well as help you make adjustments for a better fit.  If it's for you, does 17" make sense for what happens after that--I'm thinking 17" isn't an unreasonable measurement between the start of armhole shaping and the hem of a woman's sweater for example (working bottom up).

I see that there's an "ask a question" button on the page. (There's already 5 questions and answers, but none about the definition of the lower edge.) To be on the safe side, you should use the question button to get the correct answer.
