When to use an invisible decrease?

Mygosh

Question

Hi!! ☺️

I've recently discovered the 'invisible decrease' which gives a lovely, neat finish with amigurumi.

I'm making some baby clothes at the minute and don't know whether to continue with this technique or switch back to the standard decrease, Any ideas?

I always use it now.  Much neater, less bulky.  I will reverse front or back if I'm on right/wrong side.  So while you normally decrease in front stitches if the "front" stitch when I'm looking at it will be in the wrong side I use back stitch to decrease.

That's why I use backloops on wrong side. It still produces lighter decrease and doesn't show empty loops. The wrong side generally isn't visible as often and it isn't as noticeable as the bump created by a decrease made traditionally.
