December 2004 Annie's Favorite Crochet

jacaswell

Question

Hello.  I am looking for the December 2004 issue of Annie's Favorite Crochet --- more specifically a pattern in there.  It is the Christmas Tree Doily.  I am not certain that is the name but in the pattern there are little Christmas trees.  Can anyone help me please?

Not the same thing as the above pattern, but I've made a doily from a pattern that is identical to this tree skirt, except the skirt is missing a few bits. (I'm not sure of the original source of my doily pattern, but it must be one of the Spinrite companies).

http://www.yarnspirations.com/christmas-tree-skirt-1.html

Differences:

1) The center is open on the skirt, and isn't on the doily.  I've seen other doilies with open middles; or you might be able to 'borrow' a center from another doily if you'd rather--you could even add it at the end: chain X, slip stitch to inner edge of doily, chain X, skip Y stitches on the borrowed center, repeat..

2) The tree skirt has you do 11 trees, and the doily has you do 12--but the trees are made 1 at a time, center out, and are connected at bough tips as you go, so no big deal to make another tree.

The trees, the round above the trees, and the outer edging are identical.  I've also made the doily that Reni linked to, it is much smaller than the tree skirt one (both made with #10 yarn and probably #7 hook).  Off the top of my head, maybe 10" versus 18-20" (I can measure if you like).

PS, welcome to the 'ville!

This is not free, but not horribly pricy at $2.99 and is an Annie's pattern, is this it? (edit, oops same link as ReniC posted, in post 2)

My earlier link (5 years ago) of another Christmas tree pattern is no longer valid (edit) just found it, was on the same site (Yarnspirations) but they must have moved the links around.  This is a tree skirt, but I tweaked it slightly to make it into a doily large dining-table centerpiece size doily in #10 thread.
