Recommended Posts

That means to crochet a treble (also called triple) stitch in the top of the treble of the row below.  Does your pattern tell you how to make the treble?

Thank you. I'll proceed that way then.

 

My confusion came about because the rest of the pattern uses more traditional terms like tr in next stitch; tr in next dtr; and so forth.

 

The change in wording threw me off.

Is the next stitch in the row below not a tr?  Is this a vintage pattern?  Sometimes vintage patterns don't spell everything out, example if the next stitch in the row below is a chain, it may mean to skip the chain, find the next triple and triple into that stitch.

 

What pattern is it?

It looks to me like it does mean to make a triple into the top of the triple on the previous row, just what you would normally do.

 

Do you know whether this is written in US or UK terms?  I think it is UK, since there are 3 turning chains for a triple and 4 for a double triple.  Reference table of the terms here http://www.crochetville.com/community/topic/38393-usuk-stitch-name-comparison-table/
