Triton Shell Stitch

ddc

Question

I've been looking at the triton shell stitch as a possible pattern for scrap afghans, though it would have a gigazillion ends to weave in.

This is all I've found, here and also listed a few other places. http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa070498.htm

It says it is smaller than the traditional triton shell. Do any of you have any links for instructions for the "traditional" one?

Thanks in advance for your expertise!

The crochetgeek's stitch is different.  I couldn't find any other references by googling except for the crochet.about.com one.  It's probably somewhere at antiquepatternlibrary.org, inside one of the PDF files (didn't come up searching the site).

Thanks. If I decide to use it, I'll just try this one. It looked like it would be something a little different. I suppose I could always make the shell itself larger, adding another stitch or two to each one. Thinking of all the ends, I'll probably lose my nerve, but who knows? Maybe someday. When I retire and have nothing better to do with my time- LOL!
