Finishing a knit hat in crochet?

Sure, you can finish in crochet. Knit and crochet don't exactly look the same,though. It you want to try to match the stitch closely it will be hard. I've done some tunisian and many people tell me it looks just like knit. It's similar in some ways. You draw up all your stitches and then pull them off like knit. Try to increase stitches as evenly around as you can and it should come out great. Or, just crochet stitches that are around the same style or size. Good luck!:)

I think it's a great idea :idea I was even thinking of ripping back some sleeves on a couple of my sweaters and adding crochet flared cuffs:P

 

I think the combination of stitches and patterns would make a great looking hat.........take pictures of the finished hat, I'm sure we all want to see it!! :hook

Of course you can finish knit w/crochet. I love to mix & match crochet & knit it makes the piece more interesting. In the craft world anything is possible!
