DK weight?

I am making a hat that calls for DK weight. I started making it with worsted weight, and it looks like it's way too small. Shouldn't it be the opposite? Any way I can still do the pattern with a worsted weight, or do I need to search for DK? Thanks!!!

That is strange.....did you change the hook size too? Normally the larger the yarn, the larger the resulting crochet. Could you be mentally compensating for the larger yarn by crocheting tighter?

Hopefully the pattern gives a gauge, so you can measure and be sure. Sometimes a part will look small but actually turn out to be ok as you go along. Can you lnk to the pattern or tell us where it is?

:cheerDK, (8ply) is usully worked on a 4mm hook so, if your yarn is thicker, it should be worked on a larger than 4mm hook.

I am not really sure about Worsted Weight yarn but I think it is what we would call Aran Weight or Triple Knit and is usually worked on a 4.5 to 5mm hook.

Because you are making a hat, you should be able to work it a little looser than if you were making a garment that needs to fit so I would suggest a larger hook may fix your problem.
