yarn prices in canada

I was in my local walmart the other day and came across skeins of redheart soft yarn. I couldn' t beieve the price they wanted for it!!!

They wanted $8.97 for it!!!!!!!

That was just one skein!!!

I am afraid it is going to sit there for along time!!!!!

I know that you have a higher cost of living in Canada, but that seems

way out of line for red heart yarn.

I live in Wisconsin and the last time I purchased at walmart red heart was under 3.oo a skein for 7 oz. solids or 5 oz. ombres.

Teapot, was it a normal sized Soft skein or Super Soft (which is the big skein of Soft)? It seems like I paid about $8-$9 for the skein of Super Soft I just bought at Joann's on Friday.

 

On the other hand, at least your Walmart CARRIES Soft. Mine carries only basic colors of Super Saver and a few Bernat and Lion Brand and that's it. Never any Soft or any other variation of RH.

It was the redheart super soft, a ten ounce skein.

Okay, that sounds pretty accurate as far as prices go. Like I said, I bought a skein of Super Soft in Teal on Friday and it was $8 or $9 here too at Joann's. The smaller ~280 yard skeins are about $5 here, $4 if you can find a good sale.
