What to Make...

Recommended Posts

I've been collecting some yarn to make myself something special, as everything I've made to date has gone to other people for the most part. I now have 10 skeins of Caron Spa yarn, in various colors, collected via buying them and receiving a couple as gifts (Thanks DesertCrocheter!).

I know I want to make myself a blanket. I want it to be big enough to cuddle up with on the couch, so I know I'll have to buy more Caron Spa, as the skeins are rather small and I was thinking about going double-strand in order to make it a little thicker and hold up better.

I had a couple of round ripple patterns picked out.

Now... I don't know if I want to make a round ripple, or something else! The yarn is surrounding me, all the pretty soft colors, and I have no clue what to make with it!

/sigh

You could make a wool eater (bavarian, wheel stitch, etc.) afghan... I made one for my mom and she loved it!! You could even do it in like a hexagon shape if you wanted to piggyback on the round theme you were looking into. I just love the way they look!! You can find pattern instructions here:

Good luck!! :cheer

I've been a fan of Entrelac ever since I found it a few months ago. It makes a neat looking 'ghan, and it can be made rectangular for better couch use.

Otherwise, I just recieved a book on Tunisian from my wife for my birthday. A lot of those stitches look really good for doing afghans... espeically if you're a geek like I am and want to make one with MegaMan on it :angel.
