Spidey Blankie

I am brand-new to Crochetville, but I hope I can post a photo from my last big project. My 6yo woke up one morning, begging me to make him a "spiderman blankie." Having NO IDEA what to do with that request, I (of course) performed some Ravelry searches and ended up with the pattern for this afghan.

 

I was leary, having never crocheted in a similar way, but the pattern is beautifully-written, a joy to follow, and it makes sense as it is written, which, sadly, is not always the case. Now, said 6yo, when he gets scared and needs to come downstairs into our bed ALWAYS bring his "Spidey Blankie." I couldn't ask for a better vote of crochet confidence.

 

ETA: Oops! Forgot to attach the photo. BTW, that is my 6-ft. tall dh holding the blanket, it is HUGE!
