Summer Hat and Backpack

I made these for my friend's son after I had made a purse/bag for both her and her daughter. The hat is made of sock yarn and the backpack is made of the same sock yarn with a strand of size 3 yarn held with it. I really like the way the backpack looks but pictures never do justice!
