I taught myself to Tunisian crochet almost 2 months ago.. there are sevearl patterns out there to try...

Check ou thttp://www.nexstitch.com/v_pebble_stitch.html

that has video Tuts on how to do many diffrent TUnisian crochet stitches.. just click on the area that says Tunisian.. it also has links to basic crochet..

you may want to get some Tunisan hooks.. and I recomend the Dangle kind.. you can get them on ebay.. look up bamboo crochet hooks then look for the ones that have the long flex tubing.. I have 4 or 5 diffrent size of these and they work Awsome

here is what i found when searching TUnisian crochet

If you like Tunisian, you'll like Tunisian Entrelac. It's the same basic concept, but in small sections creating a pattern. Check out Gourmet Crochet's books. They're wonderful!

I taught myself with the "How to Make Easy Tunisian Crochet Entrelac" book.

do you then have to join them? or is it all in one piece?

checked the links looks awsome!

Kim Guzman does online classes here and I highly recommend them. I took her Tunisian class and got a lot out of it. had tried Tunisian a bit on my own and had problems, which Kim's info solved for me. in the class we used worsted weight and an 8mm hook, whereas I'd normally use 5 or 5.5 mm for that wt yarn. kim also has a book out with a dvd, it's put out by Annies Attic.

entrelac is made in one piece---the little squares are built upon each other as you go. one thing I like about it is that you don't have to have a long hook as you only have a small # of sts at a time---but you may want a hook that doesnt have a thumb rest.

Next question then. i did a small swatch last night, chained 10 to start with and did 10 full rows then cast off. it measures 2 1/4 inches wide and 3 inches tall.

is it normal for the basic stitch to be taller like this?

if so how does that affect making things from charts?

if not what did i do wrong?

for some reason i expected it to be square

thanks
