LA County Fair

This is not really crochet, but the history of yarn and how they spin it. I went to the LA County Fair yesterday, and I saw this picture of one of the first things made with a needle, kinda like the crochet hook, but with one big knitting needle, wierd I know. Then I saw a women sitting there and she was hand spinning yarn, I was just in awe watching this and my husband has a new respect for my yarn. She told me many people still spin there own yarn, I thought I had patience, wow, those of you who spin your own yarn are incredible, hands down to you. I just wanted to share this with all of you, kind of as a reminder of the history and how crocheting kind of evolved. Thanks for reading.

Wow, in your picture, the'res lite ard. her. When I went there she was sitting in a dark area. Did you notice that there was hardly any crochet items? In previous yrs. the're used to be a great selection of crochet items. Each yr. it's less & less.

More quilting items than either Crocheting or Knitting.

It's a shame to see.
