A prayer shawl pattern calls for circular needles can I use straight needles?

I hate using circular needles. I have a prayer shawl pattern I am wanting to do that calls for circular needles. Can I use straight needles instead. Sense it doesn't have to be joined?

It's fine to use straight needles if they are long enough to hold all of the stitches. I must admit I don't like using circs either.

Thanks for the info. I though it would work. I will only use circular needles only if I just have to.

I circular needles. You don't have the long clumsy needles and all the weight of the yarn and the needle on your hands and wrist..

But to answer your question ~ Yes, if you can hold all those stitches on a straight needle that would be fine.
