What Size to make an afghan for a wheelchair

Ok I want to make my grandmother an afghan for her birthday to use with a wheelchair what is a good size to make the afghan thanks for the suggestions

I always try for a 36 X 48 inch ghan. They seem to fit just right and if you make 12 inch squares, they are quick to go together with 3X4 squares

 

I just did a lapghan for the last charity event. I made 4.5 inch squares (70 of them) and did a continuous join, Got it completed over the days of the charity event.

If you don't want to do squares, try using a Baby Afghan pattern. They are usually the right size to use for wheelchairs.
