changing the size

RebeccaVelasquez

Question

okay, got a question for the masters:

there are 2 poncho patterns i have found for my dtr, however, one is for an adult using chunky yarn; the other is for a baby using worsted

is there an all-included answer as to how to change sizes of stuff?

(i think i've asked this before - but hey, repetition is good for the brain:p )

I make alot of ponchos using the same shape it's one long strip sewn together at one end and partially up one side. It's east to change the size by changing the width and length. HEre's alink for the basic shape I like to use.

as far as the ponch goes... i want to do a hooded poncho for her sz 6 little girls

this one uses TLC Wiggles with a G and is for a 2 yr old.

this one uses RHss, an I and is for an 18 month old :huh

is it hopeless? would it just be best for me to find a hood on something her size, make a poncho her size and then whipstitch?

:shrug

Oh, it's never hopeless! :)h But I think you've got a really good idea to find a hood that is her size and attach it to the poncho. It would be easy to upsize any of the ponchos--just do more of the pattern repeat, but the hood would take more planning and frogging. Don't forget to swatch! :D!
