Whay don't you just do a shell stitch around the border. Using a smaller hook (J is what I use)First do a round or two of single crochet (make sure the stitches are relatively close together so they lay flat), then work 5 double crochets (dc) in the next single crochet (sc). *Skip one sc, sc in next sc, skip 1 sc, work 5 dc in next sc*. Repeat from * to * around to last sc right before the end and work a slip stitch in this sc, fasten off.

This looks so pretty once it is done and is relatively easy.

Good luck!!

P.S. Is that RH Starbrite?

If you are wanting something a little lacier than a simple shell, here are some links for you.

<a href="http://www.crochetkim.com/patterns/border.html" target="_new">afghan border</a>

<a href="http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Woods/9835/lacyedge.html" target="_new">lacy crochet edge</a>

<a href="http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa012503.htm" target="_new">easy scallops</a>

and here's my favorite, <a href="http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa031001.htm" target="_new">shell path edging</a>

hope these help!

sounds pretty easy, but i do want something a little "lacier" the next post has two i really like and i'm going to decide which one to use after I consult my "coach" at work and see which one she thinks she can show me how to do LOL

Thank you both for the quick replies!! I'm a beginner so it'll be a while before I actually finish this blanket
