Town and Country Afghan

I recently started this afghan for my DIL.

She asked for it several years ago, but it took me this long to find affordable yarn that has 4 shades of gray and 4 shades of rose. I am using Plymouth Yarn Encore which is 75% acrylic and 25% wool. (I found it on sale at my LYS!) It has a beautiful feel and is easy to work with.

 

The pattern is quite simple, essentially 1ch, 1sc with cluster stitches spaced so they form a diagonal pattern. I have completed the first two strips:

 

 

 

Since the afghan is elegant but really rather simple, I wondered if anyone would like to join in on a CAL? I had hoped that my DIL would have chosen different colors, like greens and blues or golds and browns, but she wanted the colors shown in the picture, which are not my favorites. I would love to see it in other colors if anyone is interested.

You're right about not being able to find 4 shades of the same color. A lot of yarn companies don't have the choices I want.

Nice looking pattern though.

That is a gorgeous ghan. I know you said you don't like the colors, but I think it is beautiful and I love that pattern. I really wish I had the time to make one right now . It would make an awsome Christmas gift.
