LYS closing, Foothills/Mountains of NC

Any of you familiar with Holly Bee Yarns in Valdese NC?

 

I've been saddened because they are closing their doors, probably will be completely shut down by the end of Aug. I'm taking advantage of the great deals, but doesn't it make your heart break when a wonderful place like that shuts down?

I have never heard of Valdese. Can you tell me if it's near any big cities?

I am familiar with this yarn factory in Valdese. The fine yarns and thread that I have purchased there is very worthwhile. They even gave free yarn to do chemo caps. There was a basket in the store for completed caps and another basket of yarn to make caps. This was very inspiring that a company would be willing to do that. Hopefully I can get there before they close as I need to stock up as if I need any more yarn at the present time.

It's not far from Morganton, NC, just a bit east of it on I-40.

 

And Celia, they are still giving away the yarn for the chemo hats.

 

 

 

I walked out of that store yesterday with 45 skeins and a new hook for $17... and need to go back 'cause of a project I've been working on today.

I understand how you feel. My LYS closed in June. I was devistated - still am. Now all my quality yarns are at least an hours drive away.

I'll still be able to get quality yarns, but they're more expensive than I can generally afford...
