Crochet Cotton Scrubbie

Recommended Posts

Hi!

This has not been tested - but it's something I've whipped up a few times for friends. The cross stitch pattern gives a raised edge that helps w/scrubbing. Probably would be more effective w/nylon thread but I've not tried that.

Here goes:

Materials:

Small amount of cotton yarn

Size F, G, H or I hook (larger the hook, larger the scrubbie :D)

Chain 21

1) DC in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across (20 dc - including ch3)

2-5) Ch 3 (counts as first st). *skip one dc, dc in next dc, then, crossing behind dc just made, dc in skipped stitch* across to last dc. Dc in last dc

6) Ch 3, dc in each dc across

7) Ch 1, sc in each stitch across, then evenly down side, across beginning chain, evenly up other side and sl st into 1st sc. (I usually do an extra sc in each corner)

Fasten off. Weave in ends.
