Converting to the round

Hmm... I'm not sure I'm the right person to answer becasuse I've only done this once. All I did was leave one ch off of the foundation chain. I didn't need that extra stitch because the pattern didn't have two sides anymore (I don't know if that makes sense). I'm guessing this is dependent on the pattern, though. I have only done it with one pattern. I wish I could help more!

So, if I wanted to change <a href="http://www.nurhanne.com/crochet/stitches2.html" target="_new">one of these</a> to the round, y'all are saying that I should just leave out the turning chain...

Seems completely obvious.<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/oops.gif" /> Don't know why I didn't think of it before.

Thanks, y'all.<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/grouphug.gif" />

I think so, pfirsch. My pattern was a multiple of 6+1, so I left off the one and did a multiple of 6. But if your pattern was just a multiple of 6, then I'm thinking you wouldn't change the number of chain sts in the foundation. :thinking2 I'd do a small in-the-round swatch to be sure.
