what size should I make?? (adopting baby)

So my firends are adopting a baby. They are expecting a newborn, but you never know, right?

 

I want to make them some little pants. Should I make the 3-6 mo size or 6-12 mo?

it would depend on where they live. I would make a larger size because parents always get tons of newborn things and later have to return some because they won't fit before the child even wears it. When I make clothes for expectant parents I usually make a size 6 mos. That way if it is a sweater the sleeves can at least be rolled up. I usually do a blanket so that size is not AS important but my blankets are larger than receiving cause I like for them to be able to carry them as toddlers too. I also usually make a lovely of some sort and those too size doesn't matter.

I would also make them a bit bigger...How EXCITING!!!!!..Someday I HOPE to be able to adopt...Do you have a specific pattern in mind??..Take care..

I'd go with larger rather than smaller, because babies grow so fast they sometimes grow right past a size without wearing many of the cute little outfits they have.

I'd go with the 6-12 month as well. Even if they adopt a newborn, the baby could be large to begin with. My eldest daughter was nearly ten lbs and my youngest was nearly 11 lbs. They could only fit into the smaller sized clothes for a month or two, and there was one dress that they couldn't even fit into.
