Plastic crocheted handbag

I was at the hair dressers today, getting my hair cut. Reminds me that it is time to get they dye out. Anyway, as we were paying, a older woman sat down and was pulling something out of this very white and red crocheted purse.

 

Being nosey, I told her I liked her purse. She thanked me and told me that her dil made it for her out of plastic shopping bags. It was really cool.

 

I know some have been made and pictures shown here, but it really gave that stuff life, when I saw it in person. They are really neat, and anyone who has done this, how do you do it?

When you saw the plastic crocheted bag, did it look strong enough. On the web site the plastic bag handle looks like it might break apart soon????

The bag was a smaller one with a long handle. It was actually a shoulder bag with a flap and a button.

 

You can get a few things in it, but not a whole lot.

 

Yes, the handle did look strong enough.
