Yarn storage solution

(well, for some of my yarn...)

 

Since I now have a sewing/craft room with an empty closet (or mostly empty), I decided to get one of the over-the-door shoe holders and put my yarn and thread leftovers in it. I did have a problem finding one that was short enough to put over the rod in the closet, since most are 70-inches or more (fit for over a door, but I need it away from the cats). I finally found one at Kohls although I noticed that Target just got a new line in with a shorter one. (after I bought the other one)

 

(and no, this is *not* all the yarn. There's 2 full plastic totes in the room too.)

Thanks for the great idea! I have a similar shoe bag that is going unsed and a spare bedroom closet too! Now both will be put to good use.

I would have gotten a clear or netted one, but couldn't find it in the size I needed.

GREAT idea! Which makes me think those canvas cube rod hangers thingies for sweaters would be great for skeins too!
