Is this called roving? or batting?

Here's some farms who were displaying items at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and who sell raw wool, roving etc

Google search "roving" or search ETSY for "roving"... there's lots of nice stuff out there too!

..or go on ebay and type "raw wool." With that, you'll get newly sheared wool, complete with all the dirt, grease, and folliage. But it'll be cheap and you'll get a lot!

My mom found wool roving at Michaels. It was in small amounts in a variety of colors. It was sold for needle felting.

It is roving and your LYS will most likely have it, too. The price should be about $1.60 an ounce give or take a little.
