One great project and a lot of firsts in knitting for me!

I'm a crocheter through and through, and knitting often looks intimidating to me. This time I bucked up, and asked for some help.

I went to my local yarn (sit and hang out type) shop and very nice lady showed me how to start this beanie.

This project had a lot of firsts for me regarding knitting:

-This is my second knit project and my first adult made anything with knitting.

-They didn't have circulars so its my first time using dpn's too. (4 size 7 dpns)

-And its my first time knitting in the round. I had read multiple patterns and couldn't figure it out. I even looked on youtube for videos and they had them, but the projects were already a couple rows in. I wanted to know how to begin it.

Very nice, congratulations! My fear of dpns continues, so I'm totally impressed you conquered them. Patty

Its really not as hard as it looks. I had a great time making it and now I'm starting a second. You just have to keep the all the stitches facing one way and distribute them evenly on all the hooks. I only dropped stitches once, and thats only because my bf was man-handling it.

I hope you give it a try.:knit
