New knitter

Okay... So, I went to the craft store yesterday and bought a kit for knitting... I know how to cast on and do a knit stitch... Can anyone please suggest a trendy, but easy pattern for me? Thanks!

One thing that is big (I think) right now is scarves. A lot of them are just plain knit. I'm still half asleep, or I would be looking up some patterns for you.

If you're just doing the knit stitch, you'll be working in garter stitch. I would suggest a long skinny scarf with 2 or 3 colors, and some fringe.

That is great that your knitting. Warning its addicting...Did you see the multi directional scarf? Its all knit stitch + a few new skills. Nothing too complicated. Heres a picture and a link to the pattern.

I second (or third) the garter stitch scarf. I just started one last night, and am done with it, about 5 hours knitting total. It goes so fast, but is a great chance to practice your tension and holding the yard and two (two!) needles (so different from crochet). Post a photo when you're done! Patty

I have decided to knit my nephew a scarf out of plain blue yarn and the knit stitch... I will post a pic of it when I am finished.
