Question about a pattern....

It's the Scrunchable Scarf from knittingpatterncentral.com.

 

It says to cast on a multiple of 3 plus 1 on each end for selvage, and K2, P1 across. So if I'm going to cast on 17 stitches, I just K2, P1? (The selvage thing is making me doubt myself)

Your right if that is the with you like. Cast on 17 (multiple of 3 plus 2, one for each side).

 

Then just K2, P1! Don't worry about anything else. The pattern will show after a few rows. This time you will know that you are always starting with K2! No guessing LOL!

I would K1 for selvedge, then K2P1 across, and K1 last stitch for selvedge. Don't know if that's what is supposed to happen, just how I do it.
